Which Sedan is Better: Mazda6 or Optima?

Some people come to sedans because they are a little more economical. Their prices are lower, and they burn up less gas. The Mazda6 gets far better fuel economy than the Optima with 2 more mpg in the city and an impressive 3 more mpg out on the highway. That’s more money that you get to keep in your wallet.

The 2020 Mazda6 does not get that extra efficiency by skimping on power either. In fact, both with its base engine and its impressive 2.5-liter turbocharged engine option, it produces more horsepower than what the Optima offers with either its base or performance engine respectively. In the torque department, the Mazda6 continues to exceed with 186 pound-feet of standard torque and a max torque rating of 310 pound-feet compared to the Optima with its 185 pound-feet standard and its max of 260 pound-feet.

When it comes to features, the Mazda6 doesn’t miss out. In fact, it includes a myriad of features standard. For 2020, you not only get adaptive cruise control which will adjust your speed to the traffic in front of you when necessary, but you also get lane departure warning, hill launch assist, advanced smart city brake support, and more. Not to mention you have available features like a heads-up display, heated and ventilated seats, 360-degree view monitor, and the aforementioned turbo engine.
