When it comes to performance, the Mazda3 is a lot livelier thanks to impressive acceleration, crisp handling, and overall stability. The Elantra does not offer the same level of performance in these aspects. The Mazda3 also has a couple of other powertrains on offers like a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a turbocharged version of the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces up to 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque. The Elantra also has a few more engines on offer, the most powerful being the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 276 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. But the lack of the availability of an optional all-wheel-drive drivetrain system for the Elantra works against it. Also, the Elantra’s engines are not as peppy as the Mazda3.
The 2022 Mazda3’s interior is a lot more premium and plusher compared to the Elantra. The panels in the Mazda3’s interior, as well as the materials used, are of higher quality. This works to its advantage. The list of features offered by both the sedans is similar. But the quality of finish and functionality of these features is better in the Mazda3 compared to the Elantra.
