Powerful and reliable mechanical features
The 2020 Mazda CX-5 has two available engines to provide you with reliable performance. First, is a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine with Cylinder Deactivation. This engine delivers up to 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. The SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L engine is standard on the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring trims. Additionally, this engine requires 87 octane premium unleaded fuel to reach optimal efficiency.
The second engine is a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T Dynamic Pressure Turbo DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder engine with VVT. If using 87 octane premium unleaded fuel, this engine delivers up to 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. When using 93 octane premium unleaded fuel, this engine produces up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. The SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T Turbo engine is standard on the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trim levels. Both engines are paired with a SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift and Sport mode.
